Scrapbook Area

**Note...if you click on the picture it will give you a larger version, if you need to see something in detail**

This is my new scrapbook area. I purchased the bookshelf from IKEA (the greatest store in the world, besides scrapbooking stores of course). The storage containers were purchased at Michaels. The larger storage containers (rows 1 & 3) hold things like my stamps, paints, embellishments, blank books, etc. Light blue tags (to match the paint color of the room) hang from each to tell me what is included in that storage container. The smaller containers (row 2) hold my papers. I have separated them out to cool and warm colors and patterned papers. Additionally, things such as kits and unfinished projects are included in those bins. The bottom 2 rows hold my scrapbooks (yes, I really do have 25 done with 2 in progress...Book of Me and 42 Things). On top are some of my cool things...like my gymnastics trophy, SanBuenaventura Mission, 42 Things Lunchbox, etc. The roller-cart to the left holds my paper scraps and is divided by color.

This is located to the left of the bookshelf. I hung two towel rods and put 3 hanging buckets on them. I painted the buckets black and white to match the room. I've got my pens in one of the buckets and will add more later. Almost feels French, doesn't it? Also, two frames that I purchased in Wilmington now hold pictures of the boys and I.

That's just a quick look at my stuff. Now if I could only get my thesis done so that I can scrapbook again!!

Love this!!

I think this is one of my favorite new things in my house...my water dispenser! Simple but true. I find that I love being able to just push my glass next to the little dispenser and *poof* I have ice and water. I find that I am drinking much more because it is so convenient. The other thing that is really cool is that it has a Brita filter right in the dispenser!!

So yesterday I cleaned up some more of the flower bed. I plucked the weeds and then sprayed with my Weed-B-Gone. Hopefully it will keep them at bay as it is really unsightly. I still have small patch left to go but my knees hurt from being on the rough ground. Some of those darn dandelion weeds are as tall as I am in the backyard!! JINKIES, that's some big weeds!!

Thesis writing is coming along slowly but surely. I'm hoping for the end of July/early August defense. Tricia thinks it's getting close enough to go to committee...YAY! I'll keep you updated on that as it gets closer.

Still working on my scraproom/office. I'm hoping to finish up the small stuff today and post some pictures tomorrow. I just need to make my way through the junk on my desk and hang a couple of things. I'm also still waiting on the one final bookshelf from Office Depot.

DRINK MORE WATER!!

First or Second Degree Murder?

These darn weeds are a thorn in my side....LITERALLY! These are located in the small flower bed in front of my house. Every couple of days I go outside and pluck them (as they scream bloody murder) from the bed...only to find in 2 days they grow back!! Well, today they will be dealt with!! There will be no mercy - they will feel my wraith and it will not be pretty. I will be the QUEEN of torture!! Weed-B-Gone and I have partnered up and we shall wipe them out mafia style. Shhhhh - keep this to yourself - I'm not ready to go to jail for weed-murder...or am I?!?!

I'm ascared!!

My mom keeps telling me how comfortable Croc's are so I decided to buy a pair when I saw them really cheap the other day. The problem - there was only one color and you guessed it - ORANGE!

Someone save me!!

House Pictures!

FINALLY - PICTURES!! So this is my house from the front. Notice it's all brick (YAY) and has a two car garage that I love!!! (except that the garage is painted orange...I'll take a picture of that later for you)

This is from the front of my house looking down the street. NOTE: I'm at the very end of the cul-de-sac!! ADDITIONAL NOTE: Notice the orange bucket in the front yard...and the fire hydrant in my front yard....the people here TRULY love orange...seriously!!
Here is my living room. It is at the front of the house. It is still not painted but will be soon.

The kitchen which is at the back of the house. It is not painted yet - I'm thinking of painting both the living room and the kitchen the same shade of green as they share walls.

This is my bedroom. I painted it a pale green color called "Mountain Mist"....it is lovely! I am going to get a new bed covering - something in a darker periwinkle (with more purple than blue) color.
This is my office/scrapbook room. I haven't put any of my scrapbook items in it yet as I have promised myself that I won't until I finish my thesis. It's been hard but I will survive! I painted it a pale blue and am highlighting it with black furniture.

In case you're just not sure why I've made such a big deal out of the color orange I simply ask you this.....what is my LEAST favorite color in the whole wide world?!?!

Safe and Sound

I wanted to let everyone know that I made it safe and sound to Knoxville. I've been out and about a bit but Knoxville is very confusing! I'm completely turned around here and can't seem to find my direction.

I've been trying to get unpacked but it is slow-going. I really need to get out and buy a couple of bookshelves for my office. I did buy two the other day but when I got them home and unpacked them I noticed that they were broken. Needless to say, back to the store they went! My car is happy though. I did clear out enough of the boxes 2 days ago to let her finally sleep in her room, the garage. Finally, a room of her own!!

Richard has been having a rough time in Wilmington and is leaving today to move here as well. It's a good thing I got a 3 bedroom!!

Many of you have been asking for pictures of my new house. Here's the problem: the docking station for my camera is still packed away in some random "office" box and I'm not sure which one. I haven't unpacked any of those boxes yet because I'm waiting for the bookshelves.

It's still early and I'm not motivated yet to start unpacking so I got online and did the mms.com thing. Doesn't my M&M look just like me? Notice the tiara, the hiking boots, and the coffee. Yep, I figure it's dead-on.

Will post more tomorrow.
