Meet my girl!

This is my new little girl, Honor Pookie Lewis! She is a 6-week old Border Collie Mix. Everyone I've met thinks she looks like a Rottweiler but I think it's just her coloring that makes folks think that. She has kind of long hair, triangle shaped floppy ears, and a curly tail. She also has one white spot on her chin. She was the only girl in the litter and I new I wanted her immediately!

This morning we went for our first LONG walk around the neighborhood. When we got back I needed to do some work on my computer so I put her on a towel in front of me. She was out like a light! I even got up and left the room to start some laundry!

You might ask about the name...Honor, because she's going to be one heck of a field/hiking dog, and Pookie for my sister Roxanne. We used to tease Roxanne all the time that her middle name was Pookie and that she'd been adopted. (Roxanne, if you are reading this you are just won't tell me...I'm your sister....would I lie to you???)

Starting Monday she'll be a fixture in the lab at UT. I checked around with my office-mates yesterday to make sure no one was allergic to dogs. And yes, we are allowed to bring our pets to school, at least in my department. Isn't that the coolest thing?!?! stuff to scrapbook!! Must buy new dog scrapbook supplies...YAY!

New Online Class!

This class seems to intriguing to me and I'm eager to get started. The cool part is that you can use your own stash for this book! It's a completely online class and only costs $10...definitely within my budget! It's a 3 week long class beginning in May. Since my last final exam is May 1st I thought it was a sign...

On a side note...decided regular yogurt is not for me (picked up one by mistake at the grocery store..made me gag at the texture...ick!)

How's that for a little about me???? haha

Scrapbook Royalty...

God Bless my good friend Deborah! She was in Charlotte this weeking for the Inspire Event by Donna Downey. I met her for dinner on Friday night as I was in town for GSA. In attendance were many of icons in the scrapbooking world. I was able to meet one of my heroes, Ali Edwards, seen in the pictures above. My knees were weak when I met her! I've been a fan of hers for awhile now and it was such a pleasure to finally meet her...she's so darn approachable!!! She signed my book and I am devouring it (to the demise of my homework).'re great and I can't even begin to tell you how much of a pleasure it was to meet you!

But most especially, I need to send out the BIGGEST THANKS to my friend, Deborah. Girl, you rock!!! Love you so much!!!

PS...Deb did something else for me and I'll share it as soon as I can but it's kind of a secret and it really blew my socks off!!!

I love Sundays!

On SundayI do no work! Instead, I get to indulge in my favorite things. Today I scrapbooked (which is pretty much what I do every Sunday because it makes me really happy)! As soon as I saw this new paper, called Archaic by Basic Grey, I knew I had to use it to alter a set of Starbucks bottles that my friend Janet had given me. Here are the results of my efforts!!

Aren't they just too cute? You can fill the bottles with anything you want. I want to add in things like gummy dinosaurs, sweet-tart bones, and rock candy. The altering project was really quite easy once I got going.
I love my dinos!!
